Summer Blue Dresses

I hope everyone had a nice Father’s day weekend. The kids’ last day of school was last Friday.  To celebrate the occasion we drove up to Northern Michigan (Traverse City) to spend some time seeing the sights and exploring the beaches. I am relatively new to Michigan (I grew up in Ohio) so when I started hearing about everyone talking about going “up north” for the summer I thought it was strange. Anyway, since we had some time off of work we decided to head up there and check things out for ourselves. We had a wonderful time, but unfortunately I forgot my camera! That’s what I get for packing for six people as soon as I get off of work. But not all is lost as we are heading to more beaches later in the week.

Anyway, with summer practically here I wanted to do a post about my favorite summer blue dresses.  Blue is obviously my favorite color, and I’ve seen so many nice blue dresses for this summer I decided to devote a post to them. I am showcasing three of my favorites of the season in today’s post.

Vince Camuto Fit and Flare Dress

This first summer blue dress I am wearing by Vince Camuto  has to be my favorite! I just love the blue floral pattern and the fit and flare style. This dress does come in petite sizes at Nordstrom, but can also be found at Lord and Taylor and Dillard’s. I am wearing a 4P (because the 2P was sold out at the time) and I really wish I had the 2P. The dress is a little loose at the top, but otherwise fits well and even has pockets! I could see this dress being worn for any summer special occasion such as a baby shower, a casual wedding, or date night. My favorite Stuart Weitzman pumps and this cute straw tote complete the look. I received so many complements on this dress!

Tularosa Off the Shoulder Cotton Dress

The second summer blue dress by  Tularosa caught my eye several months ago, but it was too cold to wear it. When I finally saw it go on sale at Saks off 5th, I grabbed it. I love the neat blue plaid design and the breezy feel of the dress. The dress is loose at the waist, so I defined my waist by adding a belt. This dress is perfect for any summer casual day. I spent the day walking around town with the kids, eating Chinese food and having ice cream for dessert!

ASTR Adeline Dress

The final summer blue dress is a pretty blue floral dress by ASTR. I like this dress because it is just slightly shorter than a maxi dress, and it fit without any hemming. This dress is perfect for any warm summer day. The peach floral pattern really complements the blue base color of the dress. It is a wrap dress, and it even comes with a little extra button to keep the top secure (I wish all wrap dresses and tops had this!). A perfect dress for a stroll in the park or a lunch date with friends.
