Violet: The Pantone Color of the Year 2018
Technically the Pantone color of the year is Ultra Violet. While I love the color violet, the more muted version of violet, lavender, is much more suited to my tastes. When I was in college living in a condo, I had a lovely violet Wisteria tree right outside my back door. I loved watching it bloom in it’s full glory in the springtime (and so did the bees!). I’ve long since dreamed of visiting the lavender fields of Provence, but for now the local wisteria trees and pretty violet dresses will have to do!
Vera Wang Sleeveless Lace Cocktail Dress
I’ve said it many times before that I’ve never seen a lace dress that I didn’t like. So when I stumbled upon this gorgeous Vera Wang Sleeveless Lace Cocktail dress on Amazon, I knew as soon as I saw it that it had to be mine. This dress is even more gorgeous in person! No detail is spared in the creation of this dress. This dress has such a pretty lace floral pattern and is fully lined. The dress naturally hugs my curves for an hourglass appearance. The ruffle detail at the bottom makes this dress even more feminine. This lace dress is very well made and is fully lined. It falls below the knees, but is still very petite-friendly. And at $88-$108 depending on the size, this dress is worth every penny!
The reviews say this Vera Wang sleeveless lace cocktail dress runs small, but I don’t find that to be the case. I am wearing a size 2 and the dress is even slightly big on me.
So where would you wear a gorgeous dress like this? I personally wore it to a formal Mother’s Day dinner we had with our family. This dress could also be worn on a dinner date or even a spring wedding. An elegant dress such as this one calls for an elegant setting, so we photographed it at the marble staircase of the Detroit Institute of Arts. The marble background makes this dress stand out even more.
