Holiday Outfit Inspiration
There is definitely a bit of excitement in the air right now, given that Christmas is only nine days away. Around here the city is definitely in the holiday spirit – the storefronts are decorated for the season, and all of the trees are lit with pretty lights in the evening. You can’t help but be excited yourself when you see what is going on around you. At this time of year there are so many parties and get togethers to attend, with friends, family and colleagues. When it comes to getting dressed up for the holidays, my favorite thing to do is to add just a touch of red. Nothing over the top, but just enough to feel inspired every holiday season. Wearing red, I think, seems to put you in a good mood, and will surely put you in the holiday spirit!

J. Crew Pintucked Pencil Skirt in Lace
There is just something so elegant about wearing red lace. I first saw this skirt when browsing the J. Crew store for the blogger event I hosted last week. This skirt caught my eye right away, as I knew it would be perfect for the Christmas dinners I am hosting this year. Everything about this skirt is beautiful – from the color, the look and feel, and the texture of the lace. The petite sizes are sold out, so I am wearing a size 0 in the regular length. This skirt falls just below my knees, which I think is what makes this skirt so classic. J. Crew is having a great sale right now, and you can get 25% off your entire purchase with code HOLIYAY. With all the discounts, this skirt is under $40, which is a fantastic price for such a high-quality piece.

Wearing Red, Black, and Ivory
I just love the classic color combination of red, black, and ivory. The three colors, when worn together, create a striking look that stands the test of time. This is a great color combination for a smart business look such as a holiday party. But it also works for a nice dinner party or get together too! My black top is the J. Crew Ruffle Neck Shell in satin crepe. I love how soft and luxurious this top feels! My coat is an older one I got from Club Monaco last year, but this coat is a nice alternative to it. I also like this one with a touch of black faux-fur trim.
So I hope todays post has at the very least gotten you a little more into the holiday spirit! And as always, thanks for stopping by!
