Winter is Here!
After a week of warmer weather, it feels like winter has finally arrived. We somehow escaped that huge winter snowstorm that hit almost the entire Midwest/Northeast. The cold weather certainly didn’t miss us, however. And we are forecasted to have a huge snowstorm this weekend, so I know at the very least know my kids will have a blast sledding and having snowball fights. So with winter here I am all about bundling up and staying warm, and I wanted to show you my favorite ways to do so!

Start With a Good Sweater
The best way to ward off the winter chill is to wear multiple layers. Start by wearing simple button down shirt under (such as this one from J. Crew) with a sweater for a classic preppy look. I like to wear this under a nice, cozy sweater. I’ve always had a love affair with fair isle sweaters in particular, as they are feminine, colorful, and eye-catching. My husband gave me this pretty blue/grey fair isle sweater from J. Crew for Christmas. I love the pretty pastel colors, and the jewel embellishments add an element of glam to an otherwise ordinary sweater. J. Crew is having an amazing sale right now (50% off the sale price with code BIGGERSALE) so many of their sweaters are nearly sold out. Another nice option is this cropped crew neck sweater that is also on sale at J. Crew. And for a totally different color scheme I adore this pretty blush fair isle sweater from Madewell. See some of my other favorite fair isle sweaters below:

Add a Nice Wool Coat
A quality wool coat is a necessity in the winter. I’ve had this Burberry toggle coat for a year now. It is the perfect wool coat for layering over thick sweaters in the winter. I like that it is really warm too! And for a Burberry coat this one is moderately priced (and is on sale too!). A Burberry coat is an investment, but it is a timeless one that you will be able to wear for years to come.

Top It With a Teddy
For those extra cold days, layering up is key! I originally showed you this classic teddy coat in this post. This has been such a great coat that I decided to get it in ice blue as well as camel. If you follow my blog at all you know that pastel blue is my favorite color, so of course I couldn’t resist a teddy coat in my favorite color! This coat is true to size, though I did size up one size in the ice blue And I love how it complements perfectly the blue/gray fair isle sweater my husband got for me. I received so many complements when I wore it!
As always, thanks for stopping by!

Thank you Angela!
A puffer coat is another great option.

Yes you are right! I did another blog post where I talked about puffer coats, which is why I didn’t mention it here.
