Goodnight Macaroon ‘Sadie’ Off the Shoulder Sweater
We had some fabulous weather for February here in Michigan over the weekend. It was so warm and sunny (mid 60’s) that the entire city was brimming with people spending time outside. So I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to take pictures at sunset.
I’ve had this Goodnight Macaroon ‘Sadie’ off the shoulder sweater sitting in my closet for several months now, but it was a bit too cold to wear it in the winter. The sweater has a feminine off-the-shoulder neckline and is fairly well made. This sweater comes in this pretty pink, gray and a blush pink color. It is one size but does run on the smaller size. I typically wear an XS in tops and I did not find this sweater to be too big.
To keep the color palette neutral, I wore J. Brand white skinny distressed jeans (petite-friendly sizes with a 26.5″ inseam) in a size 27. My boots are also by Goodnight Macaroon and are on sale right now at under $100!. I have been wanting some pink sunglasses and when I saw these Dior sunglasses were on sale for 25% off at Bloomingdales I snatched them up right away.
You may have seen my previous posts on fashion photography. My next post will be about lighting (probably the most important subject of all when it comes to photography). It really does pay off to wait until just after sunrise or before sunset to take photos in the sun. During the “golden hour” the light is just so pretty, warm, and soft. It is so easy to create a gorgeous backlit glow at this time of day by placing the subject’s back to the sun. This is my favorite lighting scenario to take portraits!
Thanks for looking!
