Burberry Gibbsmore Coat Review
If you follow my blog at all, you know that I love all things Burberry. I’ve never met a Burberry coat that I did not like. Last year I reviewed the Burbery Daylesmoore coat and I absolutely love that coat! So when the Burbury Gibbsmore coat (also known as the Technical Wool Cashmere Funnel Neck Coat) came out the season, I knew I had to have it. Each year, Burberry reliably comes out with an affordable wool coat for the winter season. Typically Burberry coats are $1k to $2k so the fact that one comes out that is relatively affordable is really nice! The Burberry Gibbsmore retails for just over $1K but I picked this one up during a Bloomingdales sale where I received a $250 gift card for buying it.
So why do I like the Burbury Gibbsmore coat? First of all when buying a Burberry coat such as this one, I know I am buying a quality investment piece. Every Burberry coat I have owned has been extremely well-made. Even though the coats may change slightly from year-to-year, these coats will never go out of style. So when I am choosing to spend my money on a coat like this, I know I am getting a lot of value for my money. And not to mention there’s a practical aspect to owning this coat. In these frigid Midwest winters in this coat is actually warm! The Gibbsmore coat Is made from a blend of wool, nylon, and cashmere and is fully lined. I find with a good scarf such as the one I am wearing here (the Free People Kolby Brushed Scarf) this coat keeps me very comfortable. This really is a coat that can be dressed up for a more formal event or dress down for everyday casual wear.
How to Wear the Burberry Gibbsmore Coat
I also like the versatility of the Burberry Gibbsmore coat. There are so many different ways to wear it. You can wear it with the collar down as I am doing in these pictures, or you can wear it with the collar up for warmth. It can be worn open with buttons showing, or closed for a more formal style. It can be worn with the belt tied or with the belt buckled. You can see here I am styling it with the belt tied, simply because it is easier to do.
The Burberry Gibbsmore coat is also a very petite friendly coat. I typically wear a size 00 or extra extra small when it comes to brands such as J.Crew or Ann Taylor. Burberry coats do tend to run a bit small so here I am wearing a size 2. The sleeves probably could be shortened to fit a little better but overall this coat fits fairly well.

If you are looking for a classic Burberry coat, now is the time to buy one.. With all of the after-Christmas sales there are so many great Burberry finds that can be had at a discount, especially at Bloomingdales. The Burberry Baughton quilted coat in a Dark Elderberry color is perfect for a “warmer” winter day. I love this classic navy Burberry Kingsvale peacoat as it is totally my style. Finally if you are looking for a classic red trenchcoat The Sandringham can be found on Burberry at a great discount.

Burberry makes the best coats. I don’t have a heavy winter coat but I do have a Burberry trench I’m obsessed with. It has held up for years. This grey color is perfect on you too!!
