Outfit Details: J.O.A. Off the Shoulder Cable Sweater | Rag and Bone Capri Jeans | Tory Burch Riding Boots (similar here and here) | Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis Bag | Urban Decay Lipstick (Rejected)
Fall is definitely in full swing here in Michigan. The trees here just seem to come alive with color during the fall season. I try to soak up every minute of it that I can, because winters here tend to be long and hard. I have been loving all of the fall trends this season, but the one that stands out to me the most is the color burgundy. Burgundy is such a great color for fall – it is sophisticated and the color looks great on just about every skin tone. Burgundy is everywhere this season – in sweaters, tops, dresses, pants, and shoes (and the list goes on and on). With so many options, it is easy to incorporate this color into your fall wardrobe. It is a nice “neutral” color that is easy to pair with colors such as brown, cream, and blue, and black.
J.O.A. Off the Shoulder Cable Sweater
J.O.A. is one of my favorite brands. Their styles are classic, the clothing is well-made, and their prices are affordable (see where I posted about J.O.A here, here, and here). I have lots of spring dresses by the brand, so I was glad to see they came out with a fall sweater. This sweater is such a lovely burgundy color (and is the inspiration for this post). The sweater is acrylic, and it is well-constructed and most importantly warm! I love the classic cable stitch detailing too. This sweater does run large, and I am wearing an XS.
Tory Burch Riding Boot
My boots are the Tory Burch Adeline boots that I picked up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They are sold out at the moment, but there are several Tory Burch styles still available. I really like the Sofia riding boot (and it is on sale at Bloomingdales too!). These are just a nice classic boot that will be in style for years.
My jeans are by Rag and Bone. As a petite woman with a really short inseam (27″) I can wear just about any jean that is labeled “crop”. These jeans have a 27″ inseam (I am fairly certain the inseam is listed incorrectly on the Bloomingdales site). I really like the dark blue color and the light amount of distressing. These are really well-made jeans that are at a great price right now. I am wearing a 26 and they are slightly loose (so I could have sized down to a 25 but I didn’t)..
Overall this is just a fun, casual fall look. We had so much fun taking these pictures! My girls and I went on a long walk through the forest and just took in all of the beautiful views. We made the mistake though of leaving just as the Michigan football game was over. Since there was a huge traffic jam, we stopped at the local produce stand and picked up some pumpkins on the way home. A fun ending for an adventurous day!
Burgundy Fall Favorites
Below I am linking to several other burgundy favorites that have caught my eye this season. I particularly love this Blank NYC JacketBlank NYC Jacket (I own it in gray). This burgundy floral dress would look so pretty with these these Vince Camuto over the knee boots for the fall season. I’ve been loving velvet this season and this feminine burgundy velvet dress is no exception! I’ve been obsessed with this Mulberry Amberley Satchel ever since I saw Julia Engel post about it on Gal Meets Glam. This warm and cozy Easy Circle cardigan by Leith comes in burgundy but it also comes in six other colors. And finally I just hit the buy button on this BBurberry Gibbsmore Funnel Collar trench coat (I got it in gray though).
As always, thanks for looking!

I love the color burgundy! It is now a color I am daring to wear. Last year, I wouldn’t of touched this color but I am more brave now. I love the shade of your sweater! It does look so great on you. Need one like this!

Back again with Lowe’s this Christmas to share how I’m decorating for the season. When brainstorming different holiday trends I landed on a monochromatic tree. Sticking to one color for the tree can be a common concept I suppose when you think of all the red or white trees out there. But after a quick trip to Lowe’s, I browsed the ornaments and landed on blue to create a pretty Christmas tree this year. I wanted to try something different and not your usual red, silver and white color scheme. There were a few other fun colored ornaments like blush and purple, which would’ve been a fun take too. But I’m a big fan of all things blue so decided to grab all the blue ornaments I could find and got to work. And when I say all of the ornaments, I mean it. My cart was overflowing with pretty blue ornaments and decor.
