How to Wear All White in the Summer
August is here and that means we are entering the dog days of summer. I tell you, as someone who is chronically cold, I don’t mind the hot temperatures at all! One of the easiest ways to dress for the hot weather is to wear all white. White is naturally reflective, and thus wearing it can keep you cooler. I love wearing white anyway as it is so classic. By wearing white you are wearing basically a blank canvas for which you can accessorize. And an all white look is great for a casual brunch, an evening date, or even a day at the office. You can certainly wear all white by wearing a dress, but how do you wear all white if you are wearing jeans, pants, or shorts? Keep reading for my tips!

Mix Textures and Patterns
When wearing a monochromatic look, you can add visual interest to your outfit by mixing textures and patterns. Here I am wearing a simple off-white boatneck ribbed sweater I found on Ann Taylor. This is a great top that is so easy to dress up or dress down. Unfortunately it sold out, but this ribbed sweater from Express is almost identical. With the sweater I am wearing these JOA ivory belted shorts. These shorts are so classy and sophisticated, and I love the way they look! They are made of a lightweight viscose material, which is nice on a hot summer day. And the belt at the waist really makes these shorts look elegant. The JOA shorts are running low on certain sizes, so I also like these similar shorts from Topshop.

Add Simple Accessories
When wearing an all-white outfit, I prefer subtle, understated accessories to keep the look classic. Here I am wearing this elegant yet simple circle necklace from Au|Rate. The design is sleek and modern, yet it is subtle and understated. This is the perfect necklace for everyday wear, and it really looks nice with the all white look. I love the simplicity of all the Au|Rate necklaces, and any of them would go with this outfit. And my new Michele gold and silver watch with a simple white wristband coordinates perfectly with the necklace and the outfit.
Add Pops of Neutral Color
In an all-white outfit like this, I like to add other neutral colors, You could add red or navy for instance, but honestly I like the look of black or brown shoes and bags with an all-white look such as this. Given the belt buckle has a black/brown tortoiseshell appearance, you could add either black or brown to this outfit. Here I am carrying this Staud beaded bucket bag. I love the unique design of this bag, and the black/brown color will work with so many outfits! You could wear any brown sandals with this look, but I decided to wear my comfortable and classic Tory Burch wedges to complete the look.
So how would you style an all-white outfit such as this one? I would love to hear in the comments!
As always, thanks for stopping by!
