J. Crew Cotton Poplin Tie Waist Shorts

Today’s post is a shorter one as we are finally in New York City! Our plans were changed at the very last minute as our flight out of Detroit was cancelled an hour before we were supposed to leave. This was so frustrating! Thankfully we got to leave the next day and our trip wasn’t cut too short.

I picked up these pretty pink J. Crew tie waist shorts from Nordstrom a few weeks ago. I bought through Nordstrom as the sizes at J. Crew were so limited. It is so nice that Nordstrom also sells J. Crew clothing as so often the smaller sizes sell out quickly at J. Crew. J. Crew clothing does run large, and I am wearing a size 2. These shorts could go with so many tops. I originally planned to wear them with a pink floral top, but instead opted to keep the look  more simple. Eyelet styles have been so popular this year, and when I saw this pretty, feminine Club Monaco Rousha Eyelet top I knew I had to have it. The top is made of cotton, and the flutter sleeves add such a nice detail. This top is so versatile, and could be worn with solid or printed shorts, a skirt or even a pair of skinny pants or jeans.

My espadrille sandals are by Soudos. These summer shoes are just so comfortable! I especially love the lace-up detail. The shoes perfectly complement my cute an stylish straw tote from Sea and Grass. This tote was sold out for several months, but is finally available again for preorder. This bag really is one of my favorites of the season, and I have received so many complements on it!
