How to Style Floral Prints for Spring
Spring is the time for floral prints. You see them everywhere this season, in hats, tops, dresses, shoes, and even purses. Floral prints are a classic spring style and there are so many ways you can incorporate them into your spring wardrobe.
Keep it Balanced: If you have a bold floral print such as what I am wearing in this post, keep the rest of your outfit subdued, so that the floral print is the centerpiece of your outfit. In today’s outfit I decided to wear this pretty navy and pink top from Ann Taylor with a simple pair of pink cropped pants from Maison Jules (at Macy’s). The hat and the bag are also neutral colors that complement the overall look.
Mix patterns with textures: If you are wearing a floral dress, add texture with a straw or wicker purse. A straw hat is another great accessory. Ideally your accessories are neutral in color, so they don’t compete with the floral print. The goal is to choose a pattern/texture that complements the floral print.
Less is More: Florals are beautiful for spring, but you don’t have to overdo it. Wear a solid colored outfit and add a floral accessory such as an embroidered bag or embroidered shoes. The floral accessory will be the centerpiece of your outfit (I will have an upcoming post with this look as well!).
