Sweater Weather Is Here To Stay
Just a couple of weeks ago the trees were still green and the weather was still warm. Within the matter of a two week span most of the trees went from green to completely bare. And we’ve even had subzero temperatures and snow! Sigh…such is life in the Midwest. Rather than lament about the cold and snowy weather, the best thing to do is put on a cozy sweater, some warm fuzzy socks, and enjoy the season for what it’s worth! I have a slight addition for sweaters. When the temperatures drop you will see me wearing a sweater just about every day. So today’s post is all about my favorite sweaters of the season.

Each season I try to invest in one really nice sweater. A sweater that is form-fitting, yet roomy enough to feel comfortable wearing all day. And if it has just a little detail to make it unique, then it is all the better. Cream has always been one of my favorite colors for sweaters. So when I saw this La Vie Rebecca Taylor cotton/wool sweater, I knew that it checked all the boxes I was looking for in a sweater. This sweater is thick and warm, yet at the same time it is flattering. Artful stitching at the waist helps to emphasize your curves. And this sweater has a really nice button detail at the neckline too. If cream isn’t to your tastes, this lovely sweater also comes in navy.
This sweater is so easy to dress up or dress down. I am styling it with my favorite high-waisted skinny jeans and boots, but this sweater would also look nice with a pair of black pants and heels for work.

Some of my other favorite cotton/wool blend sweaters of the season include this Rebecca Taylor lace trim sweater. The scalloped border of eyelash lace creates such an eye-catching detail. For a more colorful option, this J. Crew color block sweater will certainly put you in a good mood. Add some subtle sparkle to your outfit with this pretty pink mixed-stitch sweater adorned with sequins. And for the coldest, snowiest days of the season, this Halogen high/low turtleneck sweater is just what you need! Style it with leggings for a comfortable and stylish outfit you can wear all weekend!

The Best Cashmere Sweaters for Fall and Winter
When it comes to sweaters that are stylish and will keep you warm, you cannot go wrong with a cashmere sweater! Cashmere is a fabric such a coveted fabric because it has an incredibly soft finish yet it isn’t itchy like a wool sweater can be. Cashmere is made from the soft fleecy under layer of a goat’s coat. It grows more when the weather is cold, as it is meant to protect the goat from the harsh, cold climate where it lives. When you find a nice-quality cashmere sweater, you rarely want to part with it!

The 1901 brand is one of my favorite brands you can find at Nordstrom. 1901 is an exclusive Nordstrom brand that focuses on classic styles and brings them up to date with fresh print mixes, and vibrant colors. The result is that you have a mix of pieces with limitless style potential! Of course I love that the styles are classic, with a updated twist.
This colorful striped cashmere sweater by 1901 caught my eye as soon as I saw it. I love everything about this sweater! The rich colors of mustard yellow, pink, green, and blue are so eye-catching. This sweater screams fall when you wear it. I like that it is loose enough that you can wear a shirt underneath it. This sweater is reasonably priced for cashmere at $129. And it comes in petite sizes! This sweater also comes in grey, beige, and a pretty periwinkle color.

Some of my other favorite cashmere sweaters include this classic cream balloon sleeve sweater from the Halogen Atlantic-Pacific collection. For a more affordable cashmere option this Halogen crewneck sweater is a great base layer. I have and own this Halogen striped cashmere sweater (seen in this post). Finally this soft and comfortable cashmere mock neck sweater looks so pretty (especially in the “purple cloud” color). This sweater easily works for both work and weekend wear.
So I hope today’s post has given you plenty of ideas for styling sweaters this season. And as always, thanks for stopping by!
