The Fleeting Days of Summer
It is hard to believe August is already here. Just a few weeks ago it seems like summer started. Now in a little over a month the kids will be back in school and sweater weather will be back again. I am trying to soak up every last bit of sunshine that I can because I know what is coming. Some of our favorite activities to do in the summer are bike rides, picnics in the park, and of course swimming at the pool. Even though I work full time, I try to take every chance I can to do these activities with the kids!

Eliza J Crisscross Floral Print Jumpsuit
Jumpsuits are still one of my favorite trends this season. It is so easy to put on a jumpsuit and a pair of sandals for a great look that requires little planning and coordination. When I stumbled across this Eliza J. floral jumpsuit, the pretty floral pattern stood out to me. And I love the geometric navy trim too! This jumpsuit is definitely petite-friendly with it’s cropped cut. I am wearing my typical size 2 and this jumpsuit fits me well. It is comfortable enough to wear it on a bike ride, yet stylish enough for an evening out with friends (which is what I wore it for after this shoot). I received so many complements on this jumpsuit! And right now it is on sale for less that $80 which is even better.

DIY Hat Trim
My Lack of Color straw hat has been one of my favorite summer investments! I love this hat because it came with a removable trim. It is so easy to make my own trim to match my outfit. First of all I will say I do not know how to sew (I wish I did!). I just went to JoAnn Fabrics and found a ribbon I wanted. I then cut it to size and used these velcro peel and stick ovals to each end and that’s it! So easy and a great way to make the kind of hat you want.
I love the straps in the back of this jumpsuit! I wore them crisscross as the jumpsuit fits better on me this way.
As for my bike, I’ve always wanted a vintage-style bike. I certainly didn’t want to spend a lot of money on it. When I stumbled across this vintage-style bike by Huffy (who would have thought?) I thought it was perfect! It is a Huffy so I didn’t have high expectations, but this cute little bike is easy to ride, and even my girls love it. I did swap out the basket for this one, for an even more authentic vintage look.
Anyway, how are you spending the last days of summer? I’d love to hear what you are up to in the comments.
Thanks for stopping by!

So cute!
