Winter Casual Style
This week was an exceptionally long week. After a long Christmas break I headed back to work for the entire week. The week started out rather somber as my medical assistant died suddenly and unexpectedly over the weekend. She left behind a loving husband and three children, and their world is completely devastated to stay the least. I attended her funeral midday through the week, which made the entire week even more challenging. She will be sorely missed, and I am so sad I didn’t get the chance to say goodbye. You just never know when the last time you see someone you care about might be. So never take life for granted.

Needless to say, after a very long week I am very happy the weekend is almost here! After dressing up formally all week, nothing feels better than putting on a pair of comfy jeans and a warm sweater. Which brings me to today’s outfit post!
You Can Never Go Wrong With A Camel Coat
We’ve had an exceptionally warm winter (thus far) and I haven’t gotten much use out of my puffer coats. What I do wear on repeat though is my classic Burberry camel coat. I’ve had this coat for three years, and it is still one of my favorite coats. I’ve always loved the look of a Burberry trench, as they are always so classic. Fortunately Burberry is offering similar coats this year. I especially like this Cranston wool trench on sale at Bloomingdales. For a more affordable option I absolutely love this Fleurette wool coat too!
Abound Striped V-Neck Sweater
I’ve always been a sucker for stripes, and this Abound striped V-neck sweater from Nordstrom Rack is no exception. I love it so much I bought it twice (see this post for the other way I styled it). This sweater comes in 6 different colors and is under $19 too! It is just a great sweater to wear dressy or casually. For the office wear it with a nice pair of dress pants. And for a casual look wear it with jeans like I am showing here.

Paige Verdugo Crop Skinny Jeans
It can be so hard to find a nice pair of petite-friendly skinny jeans. I am always looking for jeans with a 26″ inseam as I know those will be the right length to wear with boots. So I was happy to find these Paige Verdugo crop skinny jeans. At under $80 they are a great price, and I really like the dark indigo color too!
Notable Weekend Sales
So I hear there is going to be a huge winter storm stretching from the great plains up to the Northeast part of the country. The map looks like it is going to miss most of Michigan (which I don’t know how). If it does hit us I will be staying indoors as much as I can (though I do have to take my girls to an ice-skating competition). At the very least there are some great sales this weekend:
Ann Taylor: 50% off select full price styles and 50% off all sale styles with code MUSTHAVE. Favorites include this shimmer cowl neck top, this fun and flirtatious leopard dress, and this faux fur parka.
Loft: 50% off select full price styles. This cozy turtleneck sweater caught my eye, as did this fun navy flippy skirt.
J. Crew: 25% off your purchase and an additional 60% off all final sale styles.
Talbots: 60% off the comfy and colorful T by Talbots collection.
Nordstrom: The Half Yearly sale is over but there are still hundreds of new markdowns. This classic Leith bodycon dress is now under $24. This classic J. Crew coat is now 40% off and comes in 7 colors. And I adore these pink Nike sneakers (perfect for the new year exercise plans!).
Have a great weekend and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Bon week-end également après cette semaine éprouvante moralement pour vous.
Le manteau camel est un classique à avoir dans sa garde -robe et la version trench est très intéressante.
J’irai sans doute faire un tour en magasin durant le week-end pour voir les soldes.
I am so sorry about your medical secretary! She sounds like an amazing woman. My heart goes out to heart family. Wishing you a great weekend and I really love this coat style and the color.

Thank you Debbie! Yes it was so sad and tragic. Something you never completely get over.
