Morning Lavender Floral Kimono
It’s the middle of February and we’ve just had the biggest snowstorm of the season last week. Of course I am changing my mindset and embracing winter in all it’s glory (as indicated in this post). That being said, spring is a little over a month away. Ever the optimist, I am definitely looking forward to it! So I thought today’s post would be about this lovely Morning Lavender floral kimono that I found.
The floral kimono has been one of my favorite trends this season. A floral kimono is such an easy, lightweight piece to have in your closet. It is perfect for a cooler spring day and is such an nice way to dress up a causal ensemble. A floral kimono can be worn with jeans and a cami (love this pretty lace one!) as I have styled it here. Alternatively wear it with shorts or over a solid color sheath dress or pencil skirt. You can even wear it to the beach over a bathing suit.
What better place to photograph a floral kimono, than in front of a bougainvillea plant? These beautiful flowers are nowhere to be found in the Michigan winter landscape, so I went all the way to California to take these pictures. I happened to be in California in November for a conference for work. I had some downtime and I got to visit my friend Debbie of To Thine Own Style be True. She read my mind when I said I wanted to take pictures around bougainvilleas, and so we ended up at Laguna beach. This is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to! Not only did I get to see bougainvilleas, but I got to see the beautiful Pacific Ocean at sunset. Not a bad place for a photo shoot!
A floral kimono really is a versatile piece that is not only great for spring, but can really worn year-round. There are so many pretty floral kimonos available, that you really can’t have just one!
