Why Sweater Ponchos are a Basic Fall/Winter Wardrobe Staple
Ever since I saw Joanna from Fixer Upper on HGTV wearing poncho sweaters, I thought they were so stylish and comfortable. So because of this I have been stocking up on poncho sweaters for my fall and winter wardrobe. I bought this Maison Jules poncho sweater upon the recommendation of Annie from Stylish Petite. I loved the soft heather carmel color of the poncho as well as the all over knit texture and oversized fit of this sweater poncho. The XS fits me perfectly, falling just below my hips. The sleeves were just the right length for me as well. Right now it is sold out in the XS in the heather carmel color but it also comes in a soft gray color. It is priced at $68, but with Macy’s frequent sales it can be purchased for under $50. It is well-made and will last multiple seasons. You can’t go wrong with this poncho for the fall.
Below I have linked to a few other poncho sweaters that have caught my attention. Poncho sweaters are such a basic fall and winter staple piece. There are many reasons to have one. First of all, they are versatile – dress them up with pants or a skirt, or dress more casually with jeans or leggings. Furthermore, you can layer them with a scarf or a striped long-sleeve tee. Finally, they will definitely keep you warm on those chilly fall days. In this post, I wore this with my M. Gemi Cantare lace up pumps, but this (and other ponchos) would also look good with a pair of over the knee boots as well.

What a beautiful poncho! I’m also obsessed with thet clutch…how is the calf hair holding up? That is the one thing stopping me from getting it.
Thanks Nicole! I’ve only had the clutch for a few days, and I would say it needs to be cared for gently in order to stay nice. It is not an everyday purse, but more of a special occasion one.
