This week felt like an insanely busy week! Going back to work after a week of vacation is always the hardest! I had a schedule packed with patients, which always makes the day go quickly. My son’s 7th birthday was on Monday so we celebrated that in the evening. We headed out for a sushi dinner on Tuesday as that was what my son wanted to do. My birthday was actually on Thursday (gasp – I turned 44!) and that was a low-key day aside from work. So after all that, today’s post is a simple one showcasing one of my work outfits from the week. I’m also showing you my favorite trench coats for spring!
A Pink Trench Coat for Spring
Even though spring is here, it definitely doesn’t feel like it in the Midwest. A coat is a necessity this time of year where I live. I do like wearing coats, as they are a great way to add sophisticate style to any outfit. And trench coats are my favorite coats to wear for the spring! The pink trench coat I am wearing here is an older one from Banana Republic. Fortunately a pink trench coat is timeless, and there are very similar ones (such as this and this one) that are available this season. While I always like wearing my classic beige Burberry trench (seen in this post), sometimes adding color is nice! And what better color to wear in the spring than pink.
Pink and grey is such a classic color combination for spring. So when I saw that Banana Republic had updated their Sloan pants with new colors, I knew I wanted the grey ones. Grey pants go with just about everything, but they go especially well with pink!

Cupcakes and Cashmere Bryant Sweater
I have a slight obsession with stripes. Stripes with ruffles – even better! So when I saw this Cupcakes and Cashmere Bryant Sweater I knew I had to have it. The ruffle detail on the sleeves add a feminine touch to an otherwise basic striped sweater. I love this sweater too because it is a great piece to dress up with pants as I have done here. Dress it down with a pair of jeans for a more casual look. What I really like the most though about this sweater is the colors are light enough for a spring look, but at the same time it will keep you warm on a chilly day.

Banana Republic Sloan Pants
BR Sloan pants are some of my favorite pants to wear for both work and casual wear (see where I have worn them here and here). Sloan pants are dressy enough for any professional job yet comfortable enough to wear all day. I really like the solid construction of the Sloan pants as they stand up through multiple washings. BR has updated their popular pants for the spring, with both a textured blue color and grey color. These pants come in both a petite version and a short version (which I am fairly certain are the same). I am wearing my typical 2 petite here. These pants fit well, though they are slightly loose at the waist (but nothing a belt can’t fix).
Must Have Spring Trenches
See below for more of my favorite spring trench coats. I’ve linked to coats of a wide range of prices here. The classic Burberry trench I love so much is on the list, but I’m also showing you more reasonably priced trenches that look equally nice. You can’t go wrong with a beige trench. Variety though is always nice, so mix it up with a pink trench coat, gingham trench, or a pretty soft blue one.
Such a cute and lovely outfit!

Love from Food Lover
Oh my gosh I’m loving this entire outfit!! That top is super cute!! I have never seen a cuter coat than that! Absolutely adorable!
I really need to get a trench coat. It actually got cold in south Texas this weekend and I had to turn our heater back on. Luckily we had nowhere to go. I love the color combination of grey and pink here, it’s gorgeous!
The white and gray strips are so pretty. I really like the detail on the sleeve.
I love the idea of spring trench coats, but its never cool enough where I live to actually wear them. Maybe I should move…lol!
Living in the desert, I don’t get much opportunity to wear coats, but I love that one. The pink is a perfect shade. I’m going to BR to get those pants though.
That is such a cute coat!
love jackets!!!! Classy Trench coats are the best.
You look so beautiful! I really like your entire outfit! So pretty
you are fabulous!
You are so individual! I remember Marc Jacobs who once said “To me, clothing is a form of self-expression – there are hints about who you are in what you wear.”
