Ann Taylor Herringbone Wrap Coat
We are finally back from Turks and Caicos (a full post on our experience there is coming soon!). So now we are back to the cold Michigan weather. I told my husband that even though I don’t enjoy the cold weather, I actually have more fun posting about winter outfits. There are just so many different ways to style winter outfits! As for my favorite winter looks, I think I’ve posted outfits featuring berets at least four times this season. Berets are such an easy way to add a level of sophistication to any outfit, which is why I love them so much! So when I purchased this Ann Taylor Herringbone wrap coat I knew I wanted to style it with a beret!
This herringbone wrap coat is one of those classic coats that will never go out of style. As classic as a black trench but it has a nice neutral pattern to it. This coat is fairly lightweight, so it is better for relatively warmer days. A herringbone coat like this can be worn dressy or casual. It is great to wear with slacks, jeans, dresses and skirts. The black and white color is so versatile and can be worn with lots of different accessories. Of course the one I am wearing is sold out but this herringbone wrap coat is very similar.
I decided to go for the monochromatic look, by styling this herringbone wrap coat with black jeans and a black turtleneck. The entire outfit reminds me of what people would wear in Paris. Of course I am nowhere near Paris, France, but the local pizza parlor near me sufficed for this look. 
An all-black outfit looks more polished when wearing it with a belt. I first posted about this Ferragamo belt here. I love this belt because it is reversible (both black and navy). So it’s really two belts in one!
Christian Louboutin Velvet Matte Lip Color Review
I recently had the opportunity to try the Christian Louboutin Velvet Matte Lip color. Since I was going for a Parisian look, this lipstick is perfect for it! At $90 a bottle, I would definitely put this in the splurge category. The bottle itself is a work of art, and is such a luxurious accessory to pull out of your handbag. As for the lipstick itself, I am thoroughly impressed! For a matte lipstick, this is actually very moisturizing. The color I am wearing, Dialouzi, is fairly rich, which I why I chose to wear it with a predominantly black outfit. I do think this color is beautiful! The color is long-lasting, and even stayed on my lips after eating dinner.
This velvet matte lipstick really does live up to the Christian Louboutin name. It is exquisite in design and feels like velvet on your lips. The colors are richly pigmented and will last for hours. So I do think this lipstick is worth the money. You can buy it for yourself, or it would make a memorable gift for someone.

I love everything about this outfit. The beret is so nice and I can picture myself wear it.
I always see beret hats on sale but I’ve never bought one because I don’t know what to wear with it. I love this outfit combination and can’t wait to try something similar next winter (it’s too warm in south Texas for this now).

I live this whole look. That coat is the right length for me. It’s still cool on some days so it could get some wear this year before it’s retired for the warmer months. It is however the perfect style for continuous years.
