Confetti Time…

Hey everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! It certainly flew by for me even though it was a typical weekend. I spend the days shuttling my kids to birthday parties and tennis practice, hung a rattan chair (and in the process learned how to tie a fisherman’s knot) and did the grocery shopping. In between that I planned a late summer getaway, did a 3 mile run,  and also did a few photoshoots. At the very least on Saturday the weather was really nice (high 80’s with lots of sunshine)! I absolutely love it when I can wear whatever I want and not freeze. When the weekends are hectic, I like wearing outfits that are cute, comfortable and wearable! And that is exactly the kind of outfit I am wearing in today’s post. I have been loving the Gibsonlook line at Nordstrom as all the pieces are colorful, wearable, and versatile. The pieces are designed to mix and match to wear so many different ways. And their summer collection has some great new pieces! 

 

 

Gibson x Living in Yellow Savannah Scalloped V-Neck Tank

I called this post Confetti Time because this adorable scalloped Gibson top reminded me of the confetti you would throw at a party. It caught my eye when I was browsing the latest pieces from the Living in Yellow collection. This is just a great summer top! It is made of a lightweight polyester fabric that is perfect for warmer days. And the scalloped detail at the neckline really gives this top a lot of charm. It is one of those pieces that you can grab from your closet, put on, and feel good about what you are wearing! And it is one of those pieces that easily works for both work and weekend attire. I am wearing the color “Watercolor Bloom” but it also comes in black and a bright pink color. It does run slightly large, so I do recommend sizing down one size.  I am wearing the XS and it is a bit roomy (but not too much). 

The Living in Yellow collection by Gibson has so many great new pieces. I love his pretty violet layered floral romper, which would be great to wear on a hot summer weekend day. This adorable pink tiered peplum top would be so easy to style with shorts for the weekend and with pants for the office. And tthis palm print halter neck dress is perfect for a beach vacation!

My Favorite Tie Waist Shorts

You could wear this colorful top with so many different colors (pink, yellow, light blue) but I chose to wear with navy. Here I am wearing these Caslon belted twill shorts. These shorts are so comfortable and I love the tie waist detail! They are on sale for under $30, and unfortunately the navy color sold out quickly. But if you are sold on navy shorts, these J. Crew ones (I also have them in pink) are also really nice!

Gibson x Hi Sugarplum Line Latest Collection

The Gibson x Hi Sugarplum line (in collaboration with Cassiesugarplum) also has some great new pieces that are great for the summer. They just introduced their latest styles last week, and so many are already sold out! And I can totally see why as they are comfortable pieces filled with bright colors. I am obsessing over this colorful striped ruffle top. I could wear his romper with pops of red flowers all summer long. And this ruffle neck shift dress is perfect for a summer date night. Many of the earlier spring pieces are marked down by 40% so now is a great time to snag a few pieces to update your summer wardrobe. 

Overall, I just couldn’t be happier with the spring/summer pieces from Gibsonlook! I will be wearing their colorful pieces on repeat, for both work and weekend wear!
