Spring Dresses You Can Wear Now
So spring is finally here! Except it doesn’t exactly feel like it. It seems like most of the US is still in the midst of a winter freeze. And I even hear that the northeastern part of the US is in for one of those “Nor’easter” storms. If you are anything like me, you’ve been dying to start wearing pretty spring dresses and cute summer tops. So what is a woman to do when it is still cold outside? There are definitely ways to be able to wear your favorite spring fashions now, with a few simple style tips!

Wear a Long Sleeved Dress
I’ve been picturing wearing pretty floral dresses for quite some time now. Nothing says “April” like a feminine and stylish floral dress! So when I saw this Ella Moon Bell Summer Dress I knew it was the dress for me. I love the soft pink and blue floral design. The eye-catching bell sleeves and the graceful A-line design are really what makes this dress so nice. I received so many complements the day I wore it! It was “slightly” warmer the day I wore this dress (there is still snow on the ground), but given this dress has longer sleeves, I really wasn’t cold at all. This dress is a great price right now too at under $45. I wore it to my daughters’ ice skating show, but this dress is perfect for any spring event such as a baby shower, date night, or a concert.
There are several other spring floral dresses by Ella Moon that have caught my eye as well. I love the Ella Moon brand as their designs are so feminine and the clothing is well made (see my previous Ella Moon post here). The burgundy version of this same dress I am wearing is equally as nice. The Ella Moon line can also be found at Amazon (with Prime shipping too!). This blush/blue floral one is such a pretty mix of colors! I love the charming asymmetrical design of this one shoulder floral dress. And this lovely wrap dress comes in a tropical print perfect for your resort vacation or a fun lemony print.

Wear Over the Knee Boots
One of my favorite tips for wearing dresses in the winter is to pair them with nice suede over the knee boots. I often think that boots are my “pants” as they are warmer than actual pants or even jeans. My Tory Burch Laila boots have been on major repeat this season. I love these boots as they are so comfortable and most importantly warm. And I know they will not be going out of style anytime soon.
As an alternative to boots, you could wear leggings with booties to stay warm. I personally just prefer the look of over the knee boots.
Wear a Hat
A hat is one of the simplest and easiest ways to stay warm in these cooler spring temperatures. Since it’s March I want to put away the wool hats and instead break out the straw hats. I’ve been obsessed with the boater style of hat as it is a simple yet classic design. My favorite hat purchase so far for the spring has been this pretty pink velour straw boater hat by Lack of Color. This is an Australian brand that makes stylish and affordable hats. Many can be customized to your preferences too!
I am optimistic that spring will really be here soon in the next couple of weeks. So hopefully this post has given you plenty of inspiration for styling a spring floral dress now and in the near future. What tips do you have for styling a spring dress in the winter?
As always, thanks for looking!

Great tips, because even if it is warmer during the day…the mornings and evenings are still chilly.
I’ve been known to “hide” a layer under my dresses too with a cami and even workout shorts…ha ha!!!

Thank you Jodie! And I never thought about wearing something underneath the dress, but it makes complete sense!
I love taking my fave pieces from season to season! I would also add a (vegan) leather jacket over that super cute floral dress to toughen it up and stay a bit warm during those chilli nights! You look absolutely stunning!
Hey lovely dear,

This is a cute dress! I love the sleeves. Spring is for flowers and colors! I don’t have tall boots but I like the way you have paired these with the dress.
I really need to get some over-the-knee boots for next winter. I’m in the south, so my winters are like most of y’all’s springs. I’m already in summer clothes for the most part, but I love these ideas for the winter this year!
Those are awesome boots. I love the color! I don’t usually wear over the knee boots because i’m so short.
Love your boots. Over the knee boots are my go to. But I recently started wearing hats and it’s amazing the difference they make!
Im in love with your dress! So flowy and feminine! I love how you styled it too! Effortlessly fabulous! Gonna check out more from that brand
This is such a cute way to show off your spring style when it’s still chilly!! What a fabulous idea!!
Ooh, I especially love the tall tall boots idea! My other fave is a nice shawl or pashmina. I have a sinking feeling we’ll all need all the help we can get on Easter this year!
Omg! I love those boots. But can’t wear them here in Philippines because it’s kinda hot in here.
